Genuine Entertainment has signed White Wolf Entertainment as a client to serve as their brand manager and US sales representative on their iconic WORLD OF DARKNESS franchise, spearheading strategic licensing and managing select accounts across multiple categories including film, TV, publishing, gaming, tabletop gaming, collectibles, and consumer products.
With more than 10 million copies sold in over 24 countries and 9 languages, World of Darkness is one of the most popular and prolific game franchises in history. Beginning in 1991, Vampire: The Masquerade was the first tabletop role-playing game to ever outsell Dungeons & Dragons on a monthly basis. An instant hit, Vampire attracted a new audience, most especially women, that never played RPGs before. Over the next 25 years, White Wolf continued to grow their audience by cultivating its story world, releasing seven additional RPG series including Werewolf, Mage, Changeling, Demon, and Hunter – each exploring a different shadowy, supernatural corner of an original shared narrative universe called the World of Darkness. Widely credited as the forefather of urban fantasy in contemporary fiction, World of Darkness has become a pop cultural phenomenon, feeding their franchise and fervent fandom everything from TV series, documentaries, video games, board games, apparel lines, live events, and more.
WORLD OF DARKNESS is making its triumphant return to tabletop RPGs in 2018 with a new fifth edition of the Vampire: The Masquerade alongside Modiphius Entertainment (Tales from the Loop, Star Trek Adventures, Fallout: Wasteland Warfare). Other forthcoming releases within World of Darkness include the upcoming Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood video game from Cyanide Games and Bigben Interactive (Game of Thrones RPG, Call of Cthulhu, Styx: Master of Shadows), two new tabletop RPGs The Fall of London and The Second Inquisition from Modiphius in 2020, and Geek & Sundry’s popular streaming RPG series LA by Night. Stay tuned for more WoD announcements within gaming and far beyond!
