DIABLO TABLETOP GAMING PROGRAM
Their multi-year agreement with Blizzard calls for a growing range of tabletop games drawing from the full scope of the Diablo series and universe. The first release drops next Fall with an official Diablo tabletop roleplaying game, which will launch via a pre-order campaign on Kickstarter Fall 2025 for a late Summer 2026 retail release – just in time for BlizzCon 2026.
Diablo®: The Roleplaying Gameis a co-production from GCU and Genuine Entertainment, with Genuine’s Joe LeFavi (Alien, Blade Runner, Dune, The Walking Dead) behind the GM screen as lead producer, setting writer, and loremaster on the RPG series. After years of development, the faithful adaptation of Blizzard’s icon of isometric action features a custom d6 dice pool system forged by a roundtable of top designers, with LeFavi and GCU’s Head of Game Development Przemyslaw Zub (Dying Light) working alongside Cam Banks (Marvel Heroic Roleplaying), John Harper (Blades in the Dark), Mike Olson (Fate Accelerated), and Shawn Tomkin (Ironsworn) on the core rules.
In this fast, fun, and fearless grim dark adventure, the Diablo RPG delivers the video game’s signature power fantasy by flipping the script on character creation, fully equipping players to live the epic-level dream of TTRPGs from session zero. With magic gear equipped and mastery skills unlocked from day one, fan-favorite classes like Barbarians, Druids, Necromancers, Rogues, and Sorcerers come alive at the game table as players can hack & slash to their heart’s content – plowing through mobs and impossible odds in cinematic, tactical combat exploding with all the phenomenal powers, devastating combos, and legendary loot that fans know and love.
“In most TTRPGs, it’d take years before you’re leveled up enough to experience the dream advertised on the cover. In Diablo, however, your Level 1 hero steps into Sanctuary already powerful enough to take down the hordes of Hell. Sure, there’s still progression aplenty, but rather than starting all inexperienced and squishy, it only made sense to begin as a hardened survivor – ready to plunge into the darkest dungeons from the moment you sit down to play.”
Though you begin as a force to be reckoned with, Sanctuary makes no apologies for the unspeakable horrors you’ll face. Every choice matters in this rich, immersive adventure, as relentless mobs and moral peril wear down your defenses, and story, stats, and synergies all hold sway over life & death stakes rarely decided by dice alone.
Gloriously grim dark, brutal choices await players on and off the battlefield as they root out all evils, even those within – daring inner angels and demons to roll the dice and discover who they truly are. And all the while, the Burning Hells beckon as the Eternal Conflict forever looms overhead, testing and tempting with twists of fate in a push-your-luck meta-mechanic after your very soul.
Set after the climactic events of Diablo IV, the RPG series will begin with a robust Core Rulebook – bursting with over 300 pages of game rules, rich lore, detailed maps, and gorgeous artwork, including book covers by Antonio De Luca and Blizzard’s own Igor Sidorenko and original interior art from Sidorenko, De Luca, and other fan favorites like Mark Molnar, Henrik Rosenborg, Tomasz Larek, Joseph Lacroix, Damien Mammoliti, Scotty Newman, Pixoloid, and more.

Alongside the Corebook is Volume 1 of an ongoing anthology of one-shot adventures; each stand-alone tale from a different designer on a RPG dream team including Cullen Bunn (Horrow County), John Harper (Blades in the Dark), Graham McNeill (Warhammer), Micky Neilson (Diablo), Francesco Nepitello & Umberto Pignatelli (Lord of the Rings), MJ Newman (Arkham Horror), Nely Hann (Shadows of Esteren), Shawn Tomkin & Matt Click (Ironsworn), and more. “The narrative depth & breadth of Diablo is limitless,” said LeFavi, who is curating the anthology. “This anthology allows us to lead by example and couch co-op with our favorite dice rollers as they explore Sanctuary and what makes this world so demonically delicious on their own terms.”
Moreover, the TTRPG is a direct companion to the upcoming Diablo: The Board Game, a co-op adventure board game slated for Fall 2025. The TTRPG and board game will fuel one another with interchangeable game components, shared accessories, and complementary expansions with overarching events in a fully integrated product line. “Diablo plunged a soulstone into the hearts and minds of an entire generation of gamers and gamemakers – myself included,” says LeFavi. “To be able to work and play in Sanctuary like this, it’s the realization of a life-long dream.”
