MASTER TABLETOP GAMING LICENSE FOR DUNE

Genuine Entertainment has brokered a long-term licensing partnership with Legendary Entertainment and Herbert Properties LLC on DUNE, packaging the award-winning game publisher Gale Force Nine to shepherd the beloved sci-fi franchise into the world of tabletop gaming. Overseeing production and facilitating ongoing business development alongside GF9, Joe LeFavi at Genuine Entertainment brokered the deal and manages the Dune license on behalf of GF9, serving as the lead producer and brand manager on all games resulting from the master agreement. The multi-year agreement will produce a wide variety of original tabletop games drawing from the full scope of the Dune franchise, spanning the many publications from Frank Herbert, Brian Herbert, and Kevin J. Anderson, along with myriad direct tie-ins with Legendary’s blockbuster film and TV franchise from director Denis Villeneuve.

Since brokering the deal in 2018, Genuine has curated one of the most  critically and commercially successful tabletop gaming programs in the marketplace. Across six publishers thus far, Genuine has enlisted market experts like CMON, Dire Wolf, Modiphius Entertainment, Orange Machine Games, Portal Games, and The Op to produce premium, highly-thematic games for various categories and play styles.

Though renowned as one of the best games of all time, Dune had been out of print since 1979 due to legal issues. Solving these issues, GF9 released a remastered edition with new artwork and updated rules from the original designers. DUNE: IMPERIUM
Our flagship game is the pop cultural phenomenon that is Dune: Imperium from Dire Wolf Digital. Dune: Imperium (designed by deck-building legend Paul Dennen) is the first original Dune board game in 35 years. DUNE: WAR FOR ARRAKIS
Genuine partnered with CMON on Dune: War for Arrakis, a new tactical miniatures wargame from the renowned designers of the seminal War of the Ring strategy board game. Based entirely upon the book series, Dune: War for Arrakis features scores of new art and sculptures that bring many of Frank Herbert’s characters and creations to the tabletop for the first time. The game debuted on Kickstarter in Fall 2022, raising $1.4M from over 11k backers. The core game and two expansions are now slated for retail release in Fall 2023.

DUNE: BETRAYAL
Dune: Betrayal is a new social deduction game from GF9 designed by Don Eskridge (The Resistance), featuring stunning visuals from the 2021 movie. During this fast-paced experience of tactics and deception, 4-8 players must portray secret agents engaged in a bitter feud between the Great Houses vying for control of Dune. The goal is to learn the identities of your foes while protecting your nobles, forming alliances, and utilizing tools to gain knowledge and power.
