INGRESS PRIME FRANCHISE STRATEGY
Genuine Entertainment was engaged by Niantic Games to design a long-term franchise strategy and licensing program for Ingress Prime, the popular augmented reality (AR) mobile game developed and published by Niantic for Android and iOS devices.
With over 20 million downloads, 2,000 real-world events, and agents in more than 200+ countries interacting with more than 1.2 billion portals across the globe, Ingress had built a strong fandom and foundation for a flourishing media franchise. In late 2018, Niantic released Ingress Prime, a completely redesigned game with brand new technology, a more intuitive interface, and subtle changes to the ever-evolving mythology.
Niantic enlisted Genuine as a brand consultant to explore various ways in which licensed content such as digital media, immersive entertainment, and tabletop gaming could ease new and old fans alike into their vast narrative universe and drive users to tentpole events and content releases in and beyond the game.

Engineered upon the same game engine made famous by Pokemon Go, Ingress challenges gamers to go out and explore the world around them, interacting with other gamers and public places of cultural significance (e.g., art installations, landmarks, and monuments) to collect valuable resources and claim priceless territory as they participate in a covert struggle between two warring factions.
